William Irwin Thompson Ph.D.; is a poet and cultural philosopher who received his Ph.D. at Cornell University.  Dr. Thompson has written several books, essays, and poems as well as lectured on cultural history, social science, history, philosophy, and myth. Some of his most well known works include: The Time Falling Bodies Take To Light: Mythology, Sexuality, and the Origins of Culture, (1981) and Coming Into Being: Artifacts and Texts in the Evolution of Consciousness (1996).  Dr. Thompson founded and was president of the Lindisfarne Association, an association of creative individuals in the arts, sciences, and contemplative practices devoted to the study and realization of a new planetary culture. Dr. Thompson has held positions as Professor at MIT and York University in Toronto as well as visiting positions at Syracuse University, University of Hawaii, St. Michael’s College, University of Toronto, Western Behavioral Sciences Institute, and California Institute of Integral Studies.
